Career guidance services

To guide you in your career choices we provide extensive career information on our website and offer a range of careers workshops throughout the year. Login to the Your Careers Centre intranet to view our calendar of upcoming events and book for relevant workshops and presentations.

Career guidance for currently enrolled students

If you have a brief career query that has not been addressed by researching our website or attending our workshops, you can book a 20 minute consultation with one of our qualified and experienced Careers Advisers.

Consultation times
20 minute appointment times are available Monday to Thursday, over mornings and afternoons. Available times will vary from week to week.

How to book
Call us on (02) 8627 8403 to book a consultation up to a week in advance.

Cancellations
24 hours notice is required for a cancellation. Students who fail to turn up for an appointment without prior notification will be required to wait a period of one month before making a new appointment to see a Careers Adviser.

Vocational guidance testing

Vocational guidance testing is not available through the careers centre. To access testing we recommend you see a private Career Practitioner. You can search for a practitioner on the Career Development Association of Australia website. A range of tests are available so do your research to find the one most suitable to your needs.

What to look for in a vocational test

  • What will it measure - IQ, personality, skills, interests, values?
  • What results will it offer, and how will they help you make a career choice?
  • Will you get to keep a copy of the results?
  • How much will it cost?
  • Does the cost include a face-to-face interpretation and validation of the results?
  • How long will it take?
