Students at the University of Sydney can see your ad, search all job ads, and sign up for 'Job Alert' for daily notification of recent ad postings. There is no charge for advertising through the University of Sydney Careers Centre.

With our database you can specify the requirements of the position, inviting interest from the most suitable applicants.

How do I advertise?

First you need to register as a private employer with the Careers Centre. You can request a new account by clicking here or by selecting the option through the 'Employer Login' logos on the right hand side of this section of our website.

To create a new job ad click the 'Employer Login' logo on the right hand side of our website and log in using your unique username and password. Select the 'Job Ad' option and fill out the form. If you have any problems contact the Careers Centre on 02 8627 8403 or email us at .

Tips and hints

  • Ads that are informative about the employer, have a clear job description and selection criteria get better results. Avoid using discriminatory or insensitive language. Visit the NSW EEO website for information.
  • We do not screen applicants, so it is suggested that if you wish to confirm someone's status as a University of Sydney student ask them to bring their photographic Student ID Card to the interview.

How long will my ad be active for?

The default closing date for casual jobs ads is two weeks from the posting date. All casual jobs can be extended for a maximum of one month from the initial posting date. You can extend your job ad’s closing date through the Employer Database. Log in to the Employer Database to extend your job ad.

Closing job ads

When your vacancy is filled you can log in to the Employer Database to close the job ad. This will automatically deactivate the ad so that it will no longer be visible to students.
